Sayaka Kume
Research Project: Resolving Trade Disputes: Lessons from U.S.-Japan Negotiations
Sayaka Kume received her B.A. and M.A. in English Literature from Keio University and her M.A. in International Relations from Queen Mary University of London. She joined the Ministry of Finance (MOF) in 2008. Her most recent position was Supervisory Valuation Specialist, National Valuation Center, Ministry of Finance, where she was in charge of the World Customs Organization and E-Commerce. She has been engaged in bilateral and multilateral EPAs, including the CPTPP and RCEP, and also involved in trade policy-related issues at OECD. Additionally, she served as a Consul in Consulate General of Japan’s economic section in Hong Kong. Her research project at Harvard is titled, “Resolving Trade Disputes: Lessons from U.S.-Japan Negotiations.”
