Research Project: Industrial Policy for Economic Security: How to Ensure Resilient Supply Chain with Economic Efficiency

 

Ryuta Ueda holds a Master of Civil and Earth Resources Engineering degree from Kyoto University. He joined the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in 2014, and he has been engaged in policies related to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and electricity infrastructure (especially charge regulations of transmission and distribution). In addition, he has been seconded to the General Secretariat of Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC), the Office for COVID-19 and Other Emerging Infectious Disease Control, and most recently, departments related to economic security. His research project for the 2023-24 academic year is titled, “Industrial Policy for Economic Security: How to Ensure Resilient Supply Chain with Economic Efficiency.”
