Research Project: Japan-US-ROK Trilateral Cooperation in an Era of US-China Competition

 

Kento Hara holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Tokyo. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Japan in 2019. He has worked in the division that handles North Korean issues, where he was engaged in policy-making and drafting documents. Most recently, Mr. Hara served as an Attaché in the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Korea. During his stay there, he studied at Yonsei University and Seoul National University. His research interests include Indo-Pacific security, North Korean issues, and technology competition. During the 2023-24 academic year, Mr. Hara plans to conduct research on Japan-US-ROK trilateral cooperation in an era of US-China competition.
