Asei Ito
Research Project: Beyond Negative Sentiment: Perception of Japanese Businesspersons Toward China
Dr. Asei Ito is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Social Science at the University of Tokyo. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from the Graduate School of Economics, Keio University. His research covers Chinese industrial development, outward FDI activities, and innovation. He is one of the editors of China’s Outward Investment Data (Institute of Social Science, the University of Tokyo, 2014) and The Asian Economy: Contemporary Issues and Challenges (Routledge, 2020). He has received several academic prizes, including the Yomiuri-Yoshino Sakuzo Prize. During his stay at the Program on U.S.-Japan Relations, he will conduct research on Sino-Japanese economic relations and the perception of Japanese businesspersons toward China.
