 Shinju Fujihira’s areas of expertise are in international education, strategic planning, academic programming, communications, grant writing, fundraising, human resources, budget, fellowship and grant applications, academic advising, and student-centered learning. He provides administrative representation in Harvard and Faulty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) leadership meetings, and advances collaboration among centers, departments, and schools at Harvard, as well as with donors, foundations, sponsors, corporations, and public entities in Japan and globally. He has also served as a [First-Year Academic Advisor ](https://advising.college.harvard.edu/advising-network/first-years/)at Harvard College.  Fujihira is a recipient of [Harvard Heroes 2024](https://hr.harvard.edu/sites/hwpi.harvard.edu/files/humanresources/files/harvard_heroes_citations.pdf?m=1719926762), a university-wide staff recognition award, which “celebrates the accomplishments of Harvard staff whose work supports the mission of Harvard at the highest levels of contribution, impact and excellence.” He is a member of the Cohort III of the [U.S.-Japan Network for the Future (NFF)](https://mansfieldfdn.org/program/strengthening-government-and-expert-networks/u-s-japan-network-for-the-future/) of the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation. At the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, he has been awarded the National Security Fellowship from the John M. Olin Institute for Strategic Studies and the Advanced Research Fellowship from the Program on US-Japan Relations. He received his B.A. from Cornell University, and Ph.D. from Princeton University, both in political science, and has taught at Tufts University, Harvard Summer School, and the Department of Government at Harvard.
