She received her B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo. Her research examines the defense cooperation between the U.S. and Japan, focusing on issues related to alliance management, burden sharing, joint defense, socialization of the military, and anti-militarism. She has authored numerous works, including *Nichibei doumei ni okeru kyoudou boei taisei no keisei* *\[Formation of the U.S.-Japan Joint Defense Arrangement\]* (Minerva Shobo, 2020), which received three awards, including the 37th Masayoshi Ohira Memorial Prize.
