He has served as Deputy Director-General (Ambassador), European Affairs Bureau; Deputy Chief of Mission, Minister, Embassy of Japan in Russia; Director, Management and Coordination Division, Minister’s Secretariat; and Director, Japan-U.S. Security Treaty Division, North American Division. In 2010, he served as Consul General, Consulate General of Japan in Boston.
