Dr. Yanagi received his LL.B. and LL.M. from Waseda University and his J.D. and LL.D. from Hitotsubashi University. He has conducted extensive research on antitrust law of U.S., EU, and Japan. His recent publications have appeared in Jurist and Hitotsubashi Journal of Law and International Studies. He also passed the national bar examination of Japan and served as an Attorney-at-Law at major Japanese law firms. Dr. Yanagi’s research at Harvard is supported by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. He has analyzed justification issues under antitrust law from comparative legal and economic perspectives.

Mr. Watanabe earned his B.A. in Economics from Hitotsubashi University, M.B.A. from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and M.P.A. from Harvard Kennedy School. He was the founder and CEO of Dentsu Razorfish, a digital marketing agency. He has also served on the Board of Directors of Cyber Communications and Fractalist China. Most recently, he was Research Director of Dentsu Institute. At Harvard, Mr. Watanabe has conducted research on leadership development in the U.S. and Japan.

Yoshihisa Nomura

Mr. Nomura earned his B.A. in Economics from the University of Tokyo. His most recent position at Keidanren was Chief Administrator of the Industrial Policy Bureau. He has also served as Chief Administrator of the General Administration Bureau, Secretariat of the Environment, Science & Technology Bureau. His articles on new enterprises, agriculture, public interest corporation system, nanotechnology, and visions for future cities have appeared in Gekkan Keizai Trend, Lotus21, and Gekkan Keidanren. At Harvard, Mr. Nomura has studied defense industrial and technological cooperation between the U.S. and Japan.
